Occupational therapy is a form of rehabilitation. Therapists work with people of all ages across the lifespan to help them overcome the effects of disability caused by physical or psychological illness, ageing or accident to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives. These therapists help individuals achieve their goals through therapeutic daily activities called "occupations". Occupational therapy is a client centered and holistic approach, which includes comprehensive evaluations, recommendations for adaptive equipment and training on its use, community reintegration, guidance and education for the patient and family members to maximize the individual's independence. Everyone can benefit in one way or another from occupational therapy.
