ABOUT US

Total Rehabilitation Centre Ltd (Total Rehab) was established in May 2007 in El Socorro, Trinidad by Nicole de Freitas,

Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Lorraine Hadeed, Clinical Exercise Physiologist/Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist.

Total Rehab’s main objective was to fill a void that existed in the marketplace. This was a lack of quality physical rehabilitation facilities that catered to patients living and/or working along the East-West Corridor. The concept for the clinic was born out of the numerous complaints the partners of the company received at their Port-of-Spain treatment facilities from patients who reside along the East- West corridor. They complained that accessing quality care was difficult due to the traffic and distance required to travel to Port-of-Spain. From its inception the owners of Total Rehab strived to develop a clinic that was holistic and dedicated to the welfare of their patients. At that time, the clinic contracted the services of 2 physical therapists, an exercise physiologist and cardiac rehabilitation specialist, 1 massage therapist and 1 reflexologist.

At the beginning of 2008, we expanded our treatment area to service twice our patient caseload. In January 2009 we gained the services of another physical therapist and an athletic trainer. At the end of 2010 we obtained the expertise of another massage therapist and a nutritionist. In 2010 Carla Rauseo, Doctor of Physical Therapy, became a partner and is an asset to our team.

Since 2010 we have grown even further, and have welcomed other professionals to our team to service the fields of physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and massage therapy. We have also established an aquatic therapy program in East Trinidad, expected to begin in July, 2013. We have also developed many professional relations with physicians, surgeons, educators, counselors and other allied health professionals whom we draw upon in our multi-disciplinary approach to care.

Total Rehab has also become very involved in physical therapy and community education. We have established relationships with local and foreign schools and universities, providing clinical internships in physical therapy, and assisting students involved in the health and fitness fields in a variety of creative ways.

Total Rehabilitation Centre Ltd has become one of the premiere clinics in Trinidad and Tobago. We take pride in offering a

multi-disciplinary treatment approach. We continue provide quality care in a compassionate environment and strive towards further expansion of our expertise and practice.
